Let Love Grow!

To celebrate Coco’s 18 birthday, we made 1800 seed bombs. This fundraiser funded six pool guards scholarships at Simpkins Family Swim Center.

Scholarship Funding

The Live Like Coco has funded dozens of scholarships for kids in our community, giving kids a chance to try many of the activities that Coco loved so much. We are proud to have supported:

Memorial Projects

We are proud of the projects we have completed in Coco’s name, including a redwood grove at Nisene Marks State Park, a memorial garden at Homeless Garden Project, a bench at LEO’s Haven — and now we’ve pledged to support the Emeril Lagasse Culinary Garden and Teaching Kitchen at Starlight Elementary.

We also are honored to partner with other grieving communities to launch special projects in honor of other children gone too soon.

  • In 2019, Live Like Coco joined with Capitola Jr. Guards Parent Club to honor the memory of Charlie Moore, a cherished child who loved Capitola Beach and Jr. Guards. We helped purchase B Positive patches to all of our Jr. Guarders’ swimwear or beach gear.
  • In 2021, we partnered with the Ziva Sparks Kindness Project to purchase a Little Free Pantry in memory of Ziva Mitnick. The food pantry will be at The Episcopal Church of St. John, across the street from Seacliff Park in Aptos. Because of additional funds raised, we were also able to purchase a Little Free Library for Mar Vista Elementary School, where Ziva was a beloved student.
